" It's safe to say that no team in the NHL changed its complexion or it's culture more than Montreal Canadians did on July 1 and a big -- that puzzles -- Larry. -- Larry took a few minutes to sit down to talk to TH and dot com."
" Yeah."
" Mike newest member of the Montreal Canadians obviously an exciting time for. A kid that has an appreciation for. The history of the game and I'm wondering how much. Of that came in your decision if that the opportunity to play for. An original six team in Canada and you know the one that obviously as the preeminent teams the I think it is that's instinct play because. As the process went as -- register or might. And a plan. I think that the much -- in the fifth. What that organization means that the people of not only. Quebec the people of Canada in the -- through in general. Think they're really identified with in. I think -- put it into my decision making a lot maybe you want sub conscious that I that I realized. But they're there obviously are some built in pressures of playing in Montreal. We all know that it's it's it can be a great place to play can VA. Very very difficult place to place sometimes. I'm I'm assuming that you you took that into account your decision but I I'll what would assume that you you know you have the mental. Make up than than the fortitude to be able to say whether through those sorts of things bought I would expect that well and I I think that. Pilot my outlook on it loses understand that there is certain level of if you want to -- scrutiny or pressure -- maybe that comes with and the -- but. -- I think the positive spin on in all trends say that you can you can use that to. Figure game to a level that that's going to be your best and and you'd best for your team your team intending. But my my outlook on would be against and we get finally -- so -- to -- in the NHL. My peers certain time -- and I want to fully engaged in an experienced now figure you could be. More engaged in that plan for the Montreal Canadians self I'm hoping that it'll be it'll be a positive motivated me really. Push myself and then my teammates did -- who is -- him. I'm trying to. Get a handle on what the ID and his team in this team has got. I'm not sure anyone knows yet ask bugging you about that today and he he he really couldn't give a straight answer either. When you look at this roster when you local what's there and what's been acquired. What do you see and what kind of identity you see this team happening in the next couple years. I don't know what address that myself what what -- that he actually is and I really like the team that. The ball particularly. The lineup and and and I guess the chemistry -- what we've what we've created -- Daniel. We'll have to present itself as time goes on but. You know I think we're going to be -- that you know -- seems to did you know we're going to make plays and control the puck and -- and and -- actually restored the and Ray Durham and our whole lineup seems that way and and it and it I think for us to win I think we're all in all that -- real strong structure defensive team. -- it's kind of the formulate who we I guess right now we can pick a deal. Personality we won or came to be and then aspire to and I would -- by team. Who put a real solid the defense to be be very exciting on the opposite side of the -- Well we've been hearing all summer a lot of what we've been hearing our Summers Jack handler at various angles -- your but he but he was playing -- you know from I am. I think that that might sell my camel or -- which -- what do you think. But thanks for saying that I think that I really appreciative of -- and I love learn to -- problem and he's a world class hockey player but. I look forward to -- success -- going to have a future with -- with my teammates and in Montreal and and and for me it's it's -- off here and been there who's produced since that pretty much of your life for yourself. Pictures and we know that them the -- we don't really know for sure that you're going to be playing with Gomez and and and Gionta for and in the new scheme of things next year but. I would think that you've got to be thinking about that I'm wondering what are your thoughts are on those two guys and and went to three view might be able to accomplish together. That's exciting prospect for me those two guys. You know Scott's a guy that I would really be excited to play of clay play with because of his ability to carry the puck up days can move the puck and -- scoring area. And Brian I think brings kind of both you know he he can finish plays off you can create plays of the speed. He seems a player's news I don't know all that much vote. Okay just for planeload against in college and but we've been used -- so but who who competes at a high level and visions of oneself. Both those guys really exciting and you know be pretty dynamic line and I in my hands and an early in say what you want to look at the the additions that you look at a guy like to have a small -- around. -- I I got like yourself. Gionta. Gomez. Guys who all won and -- most recently obviously guys who've won -- Stanley Cup broke. Competitors like I I I would think that. One of the hallmarks of this team is going to be that they're going to be on. You guys are going to show a lot through just answer an earlier question did and the news going to -- that's going to compete you know. And that's something that I think's very important if you look at the personalities that we put together here assertions that. But put together here. It seems that way through all guys that have high high levels of compete. And wolf will be there in it for granted one way or another so and it's just one more thing we talked earlier but the -- and I just thought of it and you know at the same time you know it hockey is a -- team's -- race so. I think the part of being able to earn it and to work with your experience is is so important and anytime you have success. It's going to be you know under there's only guys you play for -- so are you look and I mean you had. Nineteen power play -- between power play goals last year you led the league. What are you expecting -- and in that respect when you look at. Our back line with guys like markov and hammer -- and some real good puck -- fact that you know we -- earlier I think that. That was another reason why it was so attractive -- opinions because. I don't Gordon does that have not top puck moving power of the defenseman and and those three guys in Montreal or percentage of the minds so that's really exciting -- your for the power play I think the car was very important thing that I take a lot of pride in myself. Being with the you know produce the team on the power play so. For me it's all we're just trying to get better every year and so definitely improved from last year Fleischer was right humans trying to clarify this. Did you do you speak French -- don't speak and you know now do you do you intend none embarking on some sort of but let's course or anything like well I hope to pick up as much they can you know microphones anything because it I know the difficulties today. I would definitely you know although we embrace the culture that is -- it'll bring -- go whatever. Whatever language you can hear your smart guy alive he'll pick up a lot of thanks thanks a lot like I think."
