I don't know that I go back in history and find that exact quartet but yes there have been scores like that in fact there were more -- back before free agency. Was so unique about this group is that they've stayed together as Yankees. Partly a reflection of the yankees' ability to keep them financially. But also these guys are just perform at a high level where they can still be playing. So it's a unique group and you asked how much longer can they go. -- question because at some point there's going to be a point of diminishing returns. A lot of us thought that point would come by now they face a tough question with Jeter whose contract is up after next year how much do you give them how long do you keep before."

" Let's talk a little bit about the Phillies they were clearly the best team in the National League all year long. Dodgers had a great record but they dispose of them easily. The struggles against left handed pitching in this series do you think that was the core reason why they lost your thoughts and how they failed to live up to this."

" Series yes I think you've hit on the head and when interviewed Charlie Manuel after the game for our broadcast. That is what he said when asked what went wrong he said hey. We just didn't hit and just didn't hit their lefties Ryan Howard obviously hugely disappointing series. It's a great team they have over there really special team but they ran up against the most talented team that money can buy and the Yankees played their potential. Let's talk about the front office and -- the Yankee front office and Joe Girardi has done with this team Brian Cashman. I think a lot of criticism spending so much money 200 million dollars they spent a lot of money before haven't won. But this year they got it right that's right and this year they picked the right guys specifically the three that they've caught. Last offseason for a combined 443. And a half million. That would be mr. Teixeira is to sabathia and yes mister Burnett. They are right now a team that not only is spending but spending wisely and when you do that. It's really dangerous combination. Remember Christian the Yankees did not trade for Johan Santana a couple of years back did not want to trade Phil Hughes and Melky Cabrera. Knowing that they can -- sabathia the following off season. Again when you have the resources and you have that kind of thinking he really helps Girardi to deserve special praise here. He's a guy that a lot of people including myself have questioned at times. I -- a had to change after his first year New York in which he was too tight with the media too tight with his players to controlling. There's still a lot of people who question the way he handles his bullpen particularly during the post season. But man when you win you win. They still have some big decisions ahead of them and they got a World Series MVP Hideki Matsui his contract's up after the season Johnny Damon who. Did have the best class that came on strong the World Series some really key hits free agents after this season how BC the handling them. Really tough choice here. The consensus is that it's either going to be Damon or Matsu -- not both. And the reason for that is that both older players you don't wanna tie up the DH spot too heavily. And frankly the preference for them probably is Damon because he can still play the outfield effectively. What they wanna do with the DH spot is used it kind of as a rotation with this -- maybe Damon if he's back -- at times even Jeter to get him arrest. So it's hard to imagine that Hideki Matsui might not be a Yankee. His numbers are incredible credible season. He gets lefties as Wallace Wright is his post season numbers and he's been with the Yankees quite some time now or even better than his regular season numbers. That's not usually the case for a hitter. He does make hard decisions and I would expect they're gonna make a hard decision on one of those guys. If they -- too much money maybe they just keep Matsui but. I don't think it's going to happen that way.
